2nd Suffolk State Senate Race: Long time State Senator Dianne Wilkerson lost the Democratic Primary to her challenger, former school teacher Sonia Chang-Diaz, who’s campaign argued that Wilkerson’s money problems demonstrated that it was time for a change in the seat. Wilkerson, the only African American member of the Massachusetts Senate, has launched a sticker campaign to try to hang onto the seat. Let us know what you think about this interesting State Senate race.
The Elimination of the State Income Tax
Radio Boston recently invited a group of Massachusetts residents into the WBUR studios, to talk about Ballot Question 1, which would eliminate the state’s income tax. We worked with the qualitative research organization “Cambridge Focus” to recruit a small roundtable of folks from all across eastern Massachusetts. The conversation was lively and interesting, and some strong feelings were expressed. You can hear excerpts from the focus group, and have an opportunity to express your own feelings about Question 1, on Radio Boston on Friday the 17th at 1, on WBUR, 90.9 FM.
